А что там у американцев с Quick Kill? Так и не дождались?

Кроме набора ни на чем не основанных утверждений и откровенных глупостей со слов какого-то генерала отставника, святой веры в то, что американское - это самое лучшее, я не нашел в этой статье ничего интересного. Кроме общего впечатления, что Quick Kill в полной жопе, как бы это не было обидно автору статьи.
 
Я эту статью читал в марте, такое же впечатление:- про "типично израильское, абсолютно неэффективное, уже поубивавшее массу пехоты, и тд и тп... Перлы!:)
 
To that end, the Marine Corps is partnering with the Army to test out the Israeli Trophy Active Protection System (APS). The Army is leasing four systems and will experiment with their Stryker combat vehicle and M1A2 tanks. The Marine Corps is currently modifying some of its M1A1 tanks to install mounts for the Trophy system, and the service will later work with the Army to test the protective system on the Marine tanks against anti-tank guided missiles and RPGs, he told USNI News after the hearing.

23.05.16 в "Исраэль Дефенс" было напечатано, что США вновь изучают вопрос установки "Ветровки" на свою бронетехнику: "Абрамс", "Бредли", "Страйкер". Как мы уже знаем (соседняя тема) изучают они и "Железный Кулак".

Гендиректор министерства обороны генерал-майор запаса Уди Адам дал указание начальнику отдела закупок министерства обороны приобрести сотни дополнительных комплексов активной танковой защиты "Меиль Руах" ("Ветровка") производства компании "Рафаэль".

Совокупная стоимость заказа составляет миллионы шекелей, сообщает пресс-служба минобороны (точная сумма не указывается).

Новый заказ является реализацией решения министерства обороны, согласно которому каждый танк "Меркава Mk 4" и каждый новый БТР "Намер" будет оснащен комплексом "Меиль Руах", что позволит существенно усилить их защиту.

В последние месяцы были проведены успешные испытания БТР "Намер" с установленным на них комплексом "Меиль Руах". Завершение испытаний и процесса интеграции комплекса позволили произвести закупку и начать серийное производство сотен дополнительных комплексов активной защиты.

Система "Меиль Руах", удостоенная Премии безопасности Израиля, считается лучшим комплексом активной защиты в мире и единственным, прошедшим испытания в реальных боевых условиях. Во время операции "Нерушимая скала" в секторе Газа в 2014 году система показала великолепные результаты по перехвату противотанковых ракет, которые выпускали боевики ХАМАСа.

U.S. Army plans to use the Israeli-made Trophy on the new Abrams to provide situational awareness and active protection hard kill system that operates in three major stages: Threat detection and threat tracking followed by hard kill countermeasure (Multiple Explosive Formed Penetrators – MEFP) activation and threat neutralization. The neutralization process takes place only if the threat is about to hit the platform.

General Dynamics Land Systems, maker of Abrams tanks, is working with the Army to better integrate APS into the subsystems of the Abrams tank, as opposed to merely using an applique system, Mike Peck, Business Development Manager, General Dynamics Land Systems, told Scout Warrior in an interview.

Peck said General Dynamics plans to test an APS system called Trophy on the Abrams tank next year.

Using a 360-degree radar, processor and on-board computer, Trophy is designed to locate, track and destroy approaching fire coming from a range of weapons such as Anti-Tank-Guided-Missiles, or ATGMs, or Rocket Propelled Grenades, or RPGs.

The interceptor consists of a series of small, shaped charges attached to a gimbal on top of the vehicle. The small explosives are sent to a precise point in space to intercept and destroy the approaching round, he added.

Radar scans the entire perimeter of the platform out to a known range. When a threat penetrates that range, the system then detects and classifies that threat and tells the on-board computer which determines the optical kill point in space, a DRS official said.

Along with Rafael's Trophy system, the Army is also looking at Artis Corporation's Iron Curtain, Israeli Military Industry's Iron Fist, and UBT/Rheinmetall's ADS system, among others.

Это уже давно известно. Но, согласно статье по моей ссылке, уже якобы сделали выбор.

Моя статья совсем свежая (7 февраля) и в ней говорится, что тестирование Трофи на Абрамсе начнется только в следующем году. Так что выбор еще не сделан. В тоже время видно, что Трофи приоритетная система.

выбор они может быть уже и сделали. :) но сравнительные испытания провести обязаны.
по очень многим причинам. и попытаться цену сбить. и баги возможные попробовать отыскать и потребовать починить если найдут какие несоответствия заявленным параметрам (и еще раз цену сбить)
и просто потому что любые такие поставки обязаны пройти сравнительные испытания.
 
А Quick Kill совсем сдох, выходит? Потому как в число кандидатов для Абрамса его не включили.
